Hand forged from stainless steel san mai (meaning three layers.) that a fellow bladesmith graciously gave me a billet of. it has a 1095 high carbon steel core sandwiched by two layers of stainless steel. Its blade measures at 3 3/4” with an over all length of 8 3/8” with a stabilized bog oak handle and stainless steel guard and pin.
This is a Puukko, or at least my take on it. The Puukko is a traditional Finnish knife that is a great general purpose and versatile knife, the lack of a obstructive guard really lets you choke up on the handle giving more leverage making it easier to cut and carve. The lack of traditional guard might seem kinda odd compared to most modern knives but this design is tried and true, and personally, the Puukko is my favorite style of knife to use.
Comes with a custom Valiant Forge soft case, though for an additional charge I can make a hand made custom fit sheath for it, expect an additional week before shipping. I included a picture of the type of leather sheaths I make and of the soft case as well.
